Consider these important points about child support modification

Child support orders are based on the circumstances that are present at the time of the order. There are some instances in which these circumstances will change over time. When circumstances change, a child support modification might be necessary.

A child support modification is a change in the child support order. It isn't something that occurs automatically, so you have to learn about the child support modification process. This will enable you to figure out what you need to expect as you go through the process.

One of the most important things to remember about child support modification is that you need to file the petition as soon as you know your circumstances have changed. You can't think that you can just let the child support payments slide because not paying child support can lead to legal issues.

Another thing to remember is that you need to try to keep on making the child support payments as ordered until you have a new order. Typically, child support arrears aren't forgiven, so don't let yourself get too far into the hole.

There are some cases that can be resolved by coming to an agreement with the other parent. Of course, this agreement must be in line with the Florida child support laws. This is usually a faster way to resolve the issue, so keep that in mind when you need a modification.

A child support modification is a legally binding order. Make sure that you find out what rights and responsibilities you have regarding the child support so that you know what you need to do.
